Daily Living Skills

Occupational therapy helps children develop the skills needed for success at home, school, and in daily life. Consider an occupational therapy evaluation if your child:

  • Becomes easily overwhelmed by sounds, textures, movement, or other sensory experiences

  • Has difficulty sitting still, paying attention, or staying organized

  • Struggles with emotional regulation or transitions between activities

  • Has difficulty with handwriting, coloring, cutting, or other fine motor tasks

  • Avoids playground equipment, climbing, or age appropriate motor activities

  • Has trouble with dressing, feeding, grooming, or other self care skills

  • Appears clumsy or has difficulty with balance and coordination

  • Struggles with visual motor or visual perceptual tasks

  • Has challenges with executive functioning skills such as planning, organization, and task completion

  • Experiences difficulties impacting participation at home, school, or in the community
